NYC watershed, water distribution and bottled water

Location: Central Park close to the 72nd street fountain

Set installation: A map of the New York watershed system is drawn with a chalk on the sidewalk, a table is set to sell bottled water.

Performance: Dancers are dressed in black upscale outfits.  One group is performing a choreography set to spoken language in different locations and pace.  The second group is filling bottles from the fountain, applying to the bottles stickers that read “Eau du Parc” and “Made from 100% Post-Consumer Recycled Material”. The group starts a controversy by selling the bottles for one dollar.

Environmental Message Transmission: the choreography is set to the lyrics of a poem that highlights some current issues about the watershed pollution and the over-exploitation of aquifers.
